Discover will indeed sue just for spite. They are mean!

Generally, creditors look for assets or indications that you are looking for new credit - any kind of acitivty involving money. They can do an assett search, to find bank accounts, real property, businesses, other income, etc. If they find anything, they are likely to go after it. Discover will take food out of your baby's mouth.

They also use services provided by the CRA's which let them know that you are seeking credit, refinanciing, anything indicating you have money or are about to get money. Even if you just opened a cellphone account, or change internet providers, there are services that let them know.
