I agree. No one should be able to get a new credit card with just Social Security income. If they decide to default, they cannot collect simply for the fact that social security income is exempt from creditors. Many credit card companies are so eager to improve their numbers and business that they take anyone. I don't believe eighteen year old with no job history should be able to get a credit card, but many do.
