I totally disagree with you computerguy. I think most of the time the creditors do disappear because I think most of the time the debtor can't pay. I think that most of the time the debtor does not have attachable assets, I think most of the time they have lost their good job. That's why they aren't paying. Daaah

They can not legally call the debtor's job (if he has one, and the debtor tells them to stop) They can't talk to the debtor if the debtor does not answer the phone, or tells the collection agent he is not home (the collector can't discuss the debt with anyone else)
And what is the point is filing a law suit if the debtor has no attachable assets. Garnishment is also limited, chances are good that the debtor has lost his job (good salary) and is working (if at all) at a low paying job. So, why wouldn't he just quit. It takes time and money to garnish. Point is that the collector can't get blood from a turnip. If the collector BREAKS THE LAW, the debtor has legal recourse. And if the debtor reads this board, he will know how to proceed with legal recourse.

And what difference if the collector knows where the letters come from they do make the legal point.
