I had an old capital one credit card that was eventually charded off. Earlier this year, I sent them a letter with this huge sob story of how i had a life changing event and at that time i was unable to pay the bill. so what they did was issued a new credit card with my charge off limit as the balance and every month the payment that i make goes directly to the amount. the best part is that they do not charge interest and for every 100.00 that is repaid they put 25.00 usuable dollars to the card. so by the time you are done paying you old bill you have a new credit card.
