Why Chat,

I saw nothing wrong with computerguy's post. It was direct, to the point and was the truth.

Before you say it, I'm not now, nor have I ever been a Collection Agent. If you really want to know what it is I do, I will tell you, just as soon as you tell us your name, address, telephone number, fax number, where you bank, your investments etc., or would you like for me to post this information for everyone here? I also know a little bit about your past. I'm very very sure you wouldn't want that posted. Are you sweating yet, you should be. I'm not the person you want to pick a fight with.

I post here because the people here need to hear more than just your side, as there is more than one way to "skin a cat".

You see Why Chat, not all people here are looking for just one person's opinion, because most are smarter than that. They are looking for several opinions, so as to arrive at an educated decision.

I for one have found, some of your posts just don't hold water in the real world. I'm not saying that you don't help many people here, but you also hurt people here by not equiping them with everything they will need to fight their battle.

Now to this posters problem, I don't believe they will pursue this with an attorney. I believe they will continue to utilize the CA. Providian is aggressive, but not for such a small amount of money. I would look for this CA to pass this account on either by assignment or by sale. Don't talk to them any longer. Change your phone number temporarily through your service provider. Tell them you are getting harrassing and/or constant hangups. They will assign a different telephone number for a certain time period, after which it will return to your old number. The CA will eventually fade into the sunset. If you want, you can send them Why Chat's Sol letter, but it may get you into hot water.
