Yes - and its up to you which 'strategy' you run with. While asking for validation while still within SOL MAY get you sued, there are lots of people who use DV letters successfully with accounts still within SOL. You pretty much take your chances. A lot depends on your assets and how much you owe whether or not you get served a summons from any creditor.
