I have received a summons to appear in court over a credit card debt that is almost a year old. My main question is, what will happen when I go to court? When the debt accrued, my wife was unemployed and I was not making very much. We have a house and 2 car payments, along with groceries and all the necessities of caring for an infant, and I don't have any extra money. I have heard my wages will be garnished. I want to make good on my debt, but settling for the amount they are asking is not possible. They have tacked on nearly $2000 in interest and overdraft fees. What can I do? Thanks
