First, if you're in SC, the SOL for being sued on ALL of those 97 and 98 accounts ran out long ago.

- Depends, but if its in the agreement, the answer is "yes". However, they haven't any LEGAL way to enforce collection of the debt.

- Dispute no more than 3 or 4 items per letter. You can send 10 letters at the same time, as long as they are all different disputes. However, spacing them out a week or 2 apart probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Just remember, you can dispute ANYTHING on your CR if it is inaccurate or incomplete. If they can't verify, it has to be deleted. On accounts that old, you have a good chance for deletions.

- Validation on SOL debts isn't worth the time. OPT OUT before you do ANY disputing. Then just dispute with the CRA's. If you're within 6 months of the 7 year come-off date, you can try disputing as obsolete.

- NO ! The SOL has RUN OUT (3 years on SC). They cannot force to you pay it and paying it will NOT help your credit report. Anything charged-off in 1997 will drop off next year, 2005 for anything charged-off in 1998. If you can wait until ALL of these baddies drop off by themselves before trying to buy a house, you'll be far better off.

- Dispute them as duplications.

- No more than 2 and rotate using them. Charge small amounts and pay them off every single month.
