If this is a third party collection agency, they are governed by FDCPA regulations and may not contact third parties about another person's debt unless it is for location purposes only. They may only call you to find a current phone number. They can only call you once for that purpose. However, if you agree to take a message for them and forward it, they will presume to call you again and again and leave messages. This rule does not apply to original creditors. It is important to find out first if it is the original creditor or a collection agency.

If it is the original creditor your son may not have any authority to get them to stop but you as a third party can notify your phone company and your local police department of harrassing calls. You can also sue them for harrassment. Send them a cease and desist letter, certified mail, return reciept requested. You are not your son's answering service and this is not a valid number to reach him at. You are not required to notify him and get in his financial business if he is an adult.
