Can anyone give me some advice on settling CC debt. They are not to charge off but Im sure they will be soon. One account That I have is a capitol one, the limit is $500.00 the balance with late fees and intrest adds up to almost $1200.00 . What would be my chances os settling for the original limit? I intend to settle these accounts one at a time I have a total of 7 accounts. Would valadation letters hurt anything? One more question, what are the laws for settling? Also I was with ameridebt in the past, does not work and our government ( The FTC ) is sueing them for fraud. Im in the state of IN and most of my accounts are 4-5 years old.
