i agree whychat altho u r much brighter than i am and teaching me so much! imho cap one did NOT care what reason i couldnt pay. everything i asked would they do, they declined and then sent me to the CA,,,of which they use several apparently. i would be REAL careful what u offer to settle with..as they dont want to..they lose all their hard earned interest..late fees and overlimit fees frm the late fees. its how they make money i guess. the CA will offer u up to 70% off to settle..still in excess of ur original amount..and so far not one will put it in writing so im guessing its a scam. they dont care if ur dying..ur kid is dying..or ur living in a ditch..they want their money. bottom line. i too naively tried that thinkin they would care and work with me a few months. HA HA, not even. one said give me the drs name ...AS IF. under law the dr wouldnt tell them nothing anyways. they just want any info u will be dumb enuff to slip and tell.(which i have) and they ask. about ur house? what car do u drive? what do u make? how old is ur kids? stock answer is "its none of ur bisness". reallly pisses em off but NEVER tell them anything. they start off very nice and caring and turn into mr hyde in 2 seconds once they see u know ur rights.(i was told why do u need to know ur rights? lol well duh) pleaseee be careful if u do this. credit com dont care a whit about ur situation. unless they can use it against u. again i think very bad bisness practice and not smart at all. but its their choice to do bisness this way. btw i opted out..took all of 4 minutes! all automated. ty so much for that info....:)
