Thanks for the advice, Drew. I know I have three charge off's out there. I foolishly ordered one online credit report awhile back, and after a long period of the the intermittent "settle now" letters and phone calls, suddenly the activity from all three has increased significantly. I'm thinking it may have helped if I had opted out first.

They know my phone number, but I am wary of calling LG Ross and stirring things up further. If I do, I will still follow your advice and get to a pay phone anyway.
