Credit Card companies don’t care any more about defaults than life insurance companies care about people dying. They already know what percentage will flake away each year; they just don’t know which individual ones will go bad. It’s all figured into their mathematical models. They’re all making plenty of profits, so it appears their statisticians are on the ball.
