And what about all of the interest and penalty that continues to add up, long after the card is charged off.

I think I did pay for everything I bought with fair interest. I did not pay for interest on top of interest with penalities. My credit card balances about doubled in just under four years.

I was absolutely NOT WILLING TO PAY, and I got early legal advice, and when I was sued, I filed bankrupcy. Didn't even blink. I was well prepared, and I did it all legally. At the time of my bk I had not used a credit card in 5 years.
