Oh Pullleeeeassssssssssee !!!

"Get real and realize that credit cards were never intended for this purpose."

What have you been smoking Beach ? Instead of quoting self-help books (most of which only help the author pad his bank account !!), read a little HISTORY !!

Credit, and credit cards, were dreamed up for EXACTLY that purpose !! To allow people to buy things they otherwise could not afford to pay for, over a long, long period of time. It was a brilliant scheme and the guy who dreamed it up just recently died. Personally I think the guy should have been tarred, feathered and EXECUTED a long time ago !! Credit cards have created a multi-BILLION dollar industry.. and a multi-billion dollar consumer debt problem.

You spout the '6 months of savings' theory. Sounds great.. good advice. Except for one thing, most people in debt have NO EXTRA MONEY to save anything ! I know I don't and I don't have a big screen TV or home stero system. I stay home 99% of the time because I can't afford a night on the town and I buy nothing except what is necessary for day to day survival. There's nothing that I can 'cut out' to free up money to put in a savings account.

BTW, 6 months of savings isn't enough. The average unemeployment period in the US is now up to close to a year - and unemployment is only good for 6 months. Work 2 jobs ?? Not when it endangers my health - and it would. Besides, even if I could, it would cost me more in taxes than it would ever be worth and owing the IRS is not something I relish.

You have a one-track mind and a one-track diatribe .. and you're entirely full of bull !
