if one acquires a property and leases it out but keeps his/her address there in order to satisfy the mortage requirement ( mortgage with zero down) and does not notify the renter can this be construed as Mail Fraud?

just found out that my landlord had been doing this for over a year ( 16 months to be correct) and now I am getting collection bills for him/her.

my lease expires in 2 months and I do not care about being evicted since I already gave them my notice.

also I never received an address as of where to mail the rent and always deposited the check in the Wells Fargo bank account given to me that belongs to a so-called niece.
