Absolutely NOT. Were you served papers notifying you that you were being sued? If you were sued after SOL, the burden is on you to bring the SOL defense. Not sure what you need to prove it. They probably got a judgement by default. That means they filed a law suit and you did not answer it or show up to defend yourself. I think maybe they have to validate. Anyway, they must have gotten a judgement against you without your knowledge. Once they got a judgement, then yes, they can and did garnish. Hopefully Why Chat will post an answer and tell you exactly what steps to take.
