I agree with Linda. There are three elements of owing debt. One right person, right creditor. Two, right account number. three, correct amount. Correct amount has to be itemized to shown to be correct. Before the judge may be your only time you will get to have your day in court and hold them accountable for inflating legal fees, interests and stuff. Just because they say that you owe this amount, does not mean you do. After chargeoff, many debtors never receive a single notice of what they owe until collection agency calls. Then it is not an itemized billing record that details the amount that you owe and how they came to that. Why should you take anyone's word for that?
