I got the papers yeterday stating that I was being sued by Jbc and associates. I did write a bad check three years ago so the debt is mine. When I was first contacted by Jbc i agreed the debt was mine and that I wanted to pay it, but they wanted 1,500 right away. I did not have the money and still do not, when I told them that they said I had to pay or I would be sued. I than asked them for a copy of my check and they said that it was to late I was going to be sued. Well a month later I got the summons. Does anyone have any advice? I do want to take care of this debt but I am afraid they will make me pay like 5,000. I am preganat and just about to have a baby, which means a am going to go on disability. can the garnish my disability? or even my regular work check? I really can not offrd tp pay high payments. will the judge work with me? any advice would be great. thanks
