When you state that "I even wrote them and asked what information they needed to come up with a payment plan which they told me earlier that we could do." Are you talking about the Judgments? If you have a judgment against you, $$$$ gets sent to the Court and not the Plaintiff. Once the Court gets the full amount of the Judgment, then the County Recorder would issue a release.

I've had a Judgment sitting against me for the last 8-1/2 years.

The Nolo Press book "Money Troubles" is excellent reading. Nolo Press is also online. The latest edition of the book is better than the mid 90's version.

If you can afford it, consider changing your telephone number to an unlisted. Illinois Bell used to be quite good. I did that in 1995 and my phone was quiet for a long time.

The bankruptcy attorneys in my area advertise that one can get a free one hour consultation. I saw one and called two others a month ago.

Well, greetings from an ex-Oak Parker.
