Serious Financial Problem

I am in a job where I had to give my wife total control of my finances because I can be called away at a moments notice. To make a very long story short she has destroyed me financially. I am a joint account holder on a number of credit cards that I've never heard of or seen a scrap of paper on. My name is present on loan documents that I've never signed. She used a power of attorney that I gave to her for emergency purposes and has created about 80 thousand in debt. You name it and it is currently going on......charge off's as bad debt all over my credit report, delinquent loans, maxed credit cards equating to 40 thousand plus. This has been going on for a long time and I've never been the wiser because she intercepts all the mail and I only see what she wants me to see. Well, recently it all crashed on her and I know everything. Some of this has popped up over the past seven years or so and I always thought that we were back on track. She cannot explain what she has spent all this money on and I do not see any noticeable improvement in my quality of life nor in my posessions. The derogatory information on my credit report is sure to cause a problem with my security clearance in the very near future. And no, she doesn't do drugs. I now have control over my finances but I have a lot of questions: Am I responsible for the debts that she created with my name attached? Can I put in fraud statements to the credit reporting agencies explaining this situation and get this derogatory information removed? How do the courts look upon this situation? Don't I have a reasonable expectation that she WOULD NOT do something so destructive and malicious?
