This is more like mortgage fraud. The rates on personal loans- if you are going to live in the house are lower than the rates for rental property. We had the same situation here, and the mortgage company was very interested to find out the true situation. So, if you care to cause some trouble...dial up the mortgage company.

We found out because the mortgage company was sending mail to the owner of the house.
