we were buyinf furniture from Heilig Meyers and they closed their doors and went bankrupt.A few weeks later we get a letter telling us to continue making our payments to a place calling themselves Heilig Meyers master trust. We sent a few payments then recieved a letter telling us not to send any more that it was against the law for them to collect since they filed bankruptcy.A few months go by and we got a letter from an attorney in our state saying that they are going to take us to court for them, and no they wont accept payments ,they want the total amount owed.We got a loan ,tried to figure out where to send the payment to no avail. Then last month Gulf State called and I arranged to send a hundred a month.Today they called and said that the amount I sent is not satisfactory and that they are going to turn me over to their attorney.I said that has already been done she called me a liar,I asked how they can collect for a bankrupt company and she said they bought the account from a bank.Is this possible?
Is any one else having problems with a Heilig Meyers account?
