First of all you are dealing with a 3rd party collection agency. Personally, I would never talk to them. These people are well known for lies and threats. Mostly they are just blowing smoke. That being said. DON'T SEND THEM ANYMORE MONEY. Good possibilty that this account is past the SOL. Beside that these are extenuating circumstances, and hopefully WHY CHAT will answer. What state are you in and when was your last payment, or when did the furniture company go bk? Not sure when the SOL would start here, but someone else will know.
