Help I got a cert. letter today from the patient acct manager at the hospital that I had sent a Hipaa letter to w/pmt on 3 accts. She has now sent back money orders again. The first time she sent them bck saying the acct numbers appear to be from another medical practice. and to feel free to give her a call, so I did on the telephne she said the acct numbers dont match and neither do the balances. I explained to her that those where the numbers and balances appearing on
on my Credit report listing them as the Oc,but she said I do owe on 3 accts gave me their org. billing numbers and the balances that where owed and we agreed most likely the acct numbers are the CA's and the balances are probally differnt due to CA charges the diff being $2,$3,&4. She also said that she couldnot accept the money on the accts because she had contract w/ the collection agency. Well I didnt give up there I resnt Hipaa w/ her acct numbers and full pmts again.
Today I get the moneys orders back again and a letter saying these accts were in 1998 and 2001 and sent to their collections in 10/98 and 9/2001 HIPAA guide lines where not even in place. The dates of service are 4/98 and 2/2001 and that they where unpaid accts at the time info was released to their CA. and this disclosure was for a permitted buisness purpose> Then she goes on to say for me to get a hold of the Ca and go thru the proper chanels to pay this debt. Sorry so long What do think and what do I do now???
