i just read at another webstite that 'many debtors unwillingly renew the SOL by making a partial payment or a written promise to pay which can extend the statute.' am i understanding this right, say date of last payment to the OC was in 10/2001 but, before becoming aware of this site, i paid a $220 amt. to a CA because they 'scared' me into thinking i was being sued if not paid immediately, that payment was a year ago this month 1/2003. so does this mean now that my new SOL for said acct. started in '03 and not 10/01. after all i've read here, i thought that the SOL date is solely from last payment to OC. i've not made a pmt. to my 3 CCs in well over 2.5 years. but i have been scared into making a "partial pmt." for fear of being sued on another account also last year. as always, any insight greatly appreciated, you guys all rock!!!
