Well, I wish I had gotten into this about a year ago. I opened an account with Household for a personal loan in 8/01. I chose not to pay them and then apparently it was charged off. When they called me every day threatening me that they were garnish my wages, I gave in and refinanced the loan. They never notified me that the item was charged off. The price and rate were negotiated. After all of this, on my bureau shows a charge off account and a new loan. I figured that since it was a refinance deal with the same company, I would keep the same tradeline. Apparently I was wrong. I have went through the validation process and they have given me photo copies of my original signatures. I'm at a loss of what to do here. Granted, it shows as a paid charge off, but I want that thing off of there. Household are a bunch of tyrants and get off in ruining peoples credit! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
