Hi, I posted mid-Dec regarding summons & complaint from attorney representing Citibank. Have been researching & talking to legal aid, consumer credit, and a couple of BK attorneys while getting through Christmas with my kids & preparing for sons surgery...earning my gray hair! My "plan" at this point is to file a continuance along with notice of appearance & answer before Jan. 10. Can/should I file all three???Then I want to attempt (in writing) to see if Citibanks attorney will settle before going to court. My thinking is that I might come out a little better if I can show that I've tried to settle with them again. I contacted Citibank (Legal Aid's recommendation) and they would not EVEN discuss the acct, told me I would have to contact Bernhardt. Should I even be dealing with Bernhardt since I never signed a contract with him? From Citibank it went to RMA and then to attorney. How can I find out from RMA whether or not they own the debt or sold it back to Citibank or to attorney? I need some guidance desperately. Thanks for any and all help...this forum is a wealth of information, but mind boggling.
