I was just reading in the archives and found a posting from you that, as I understand it, you shouldn't send validation letters unless you plan to settle the debt. A few weeks ago I sent a validation letter to CACV on my DMC account, yesterday my husband got a dunning letter from a different "attorney" for the same account so I was planning to send them a validation letter. Should I not send it? I don't want to encourage them to sue me. The original debt was only $2000 but with all the charges it's now about $4000 and the last payment was made in 3/03. I live in Nebraska and the attorney is Bronson & Migliaccio in NY. I got caught up in some of the talk a last month and thought that sending validation letters might help me avoid BK--would appreciate your advice before I dig a bigger hole. Thanks
