WhyChats advice is correct, so go in that direction.

Secondly, if your BF's name was not on any of the accounts his ex had discharged in her bankruptcy, then he bears NO repsonsibility for those debts, even if it said so in their divorce decree.

If, on the other hand, his name WAS joint on the accounts, then I'm afraid he IS liable for the debts.

What state are you in ?
