Seizures means they take the property or bank account money as their own. They take the money out of the bank. It is sometimes called a bank levy.

In freezing a bank account, the money stays right in the money and they can't take it out until they have a judgment but you can't touch it, take it out, or write checks against it. All freezed funds stay in the bank until the court makes a judgment. If the court rules in your favor, the freeze is lifted and the accounts funds are made available to you. If the courts rule in the creditors favor, the creditor comes to the bank with a writ of garnishment obtained from the court clerk and takes the money. After the judgment though, the court will give you a period of time in which to claim your exemptions from the bank account where you get to list all deposits and sources of funds that are exempt from creditors like alimony, child support payments, social security, disability payments, welfare benefits, etc.
