checking account and freezing....how long?

I am wanting to open a checking account in Texas long enough for a check to go through and then withdraw the money.....could they freeze it that fast. Would a option be to open one in another state if they could freeze it that fast. I dont want to lose the money....I need to get my financial situation turned around...the bank the check is drawn on is in Mass. Thanks
