IF scumbag provides evidence of his claim, i.e. proof that it is your account, proof of his authority to file the claim, proof of the ammounts etc... then, unless you have a SOL defense (which you apparently did not as you would have raised i in your answer) you will have an opportunity to request mediation and make a settlement.

MAKE SURE that any mediated settlement is in writing and in your case file to prevent a sneak filing of the judgment.
