This is one of the FEW cases where I suggest a STRONG valdation/dispute/cease and desist letter.

You will not/can not be sued by Credigy as First Select was not the OC (original creditor) and Credigy would have NO authorization or assignment from First Select of the OC account.

All they have is the dubious value of the transmittal of the balance owed from the settlement agreement to them for collecton.
