And YOU keep forgetting that WhyChat is not one of the people who run this site !! The owners provided a forum - FREE, I might add, and it has developed. WhyChat, nor any of the rest of us, has ANY direct affiliation with the site owners. The board is FREE but the owners/sponsors have to generate income somehow and they do it in the most common way available - banner ads. Since this is a credit-related board, it stands to reason that the ads they choose are also credit-related.

They do not tell us what or what not to post, except in their usual terms, and we are not restricted from criticizing CC issuers like Discover, no matter how bad they may be !

WhyChat already told you the answer, its not a simple one to just flip off an exact answer to. If CA laws don't allow for pre-judment seizure, then you've nothing to worry about. In fact, CA has a VERY strong version of the FDCPA with has restrictions that even the Federal Act does not include. Since CA IS a very consumer-friendly state, I'd be VERY surprised to find pre-judgment siezure for cc debt allowed !

CA statutes, along with most states, ARE on-line. I suggest you start read them - look under Civil Procedure, Judgement, that is USUALLY where you'll find the answer to YOUR question.
