RESIST TEMPTATION. DO NOT DEPOSIT THAT CHECK! It is ABSOLUTELY a ploy to get your banking information. If you deposit that check, they will ACH debit the $100 plus whatever else they choose! The best way to deal with it is to just put it in your sock drawer and let it collect dust. Don't even acknowledge receiving it. If you want to screw them and like excitement, take it to a check cashing place and cash it! Only do this if you can cash it there without giving up any additional information that Collect America may not already have about you. But, if I were you I would not do anything with that check, because it could create a direct transaction or "relationship" between you and Collect America which could bite you in the ass later on. RESIST TEMPTATION. DO NOT DEPOSIT THAT CHECK!
