Paying off debts that have been sent to collections etc..

Just wondering if someone can help me. I just pulled up my credit report and have noticed some hospital bills and phone bills from the past 2 years that are on my credit report. They are not that much, some like 200 dollars. If I pay them off now and settle up since they are in collections, will that help my credit at all? Thank you
