Universal is one of the scummiest predatory bunco-bankers in a field of sleazebags. Legendary for harassing cardholders knowing they are exempt from the constraints upon CA's, they are hated by merchants as well. Tip to scammers: If you want to get free stuff, here's how: DISCLAIMER: This is to illustrate a problem, not to be taken as counsel. The actions described are illegal, fraudulent, probably fattening and are cited to illustrate the vile kleptocratic policies of ATT/Universal/Citibank by which it abuses both cardholder and merchant. 1. Charrge mail order merchandise to your ATT/Universal/Citi-Card. 2. Tell the merchant you don't want signed delivery confirmation. 3. Take delivery on the goods - after the delivery man is out of sight. 4. Call ATT/Universal/Citi-sleaze-bank, claim you did not receive the goods, you want the charges removed. Note: Lie to your heart's content, claim delivery was promised in one day when the merchant in fact promised two to four weeks. You can be as unreasonable, outrageous, duplicitous in as you wish. Look, you're doing crimes, might as well make them big ones. 5. Universal won't bother to get the merchant's side, they'll do no investigation. They will charge back the purchase, debiting the merchant's account until he produces proof the goods were received by customer. No other supporting documents count, forget about UPS shipping receipts showing delivery to the home. Absent your signature as proof of delivery, you keep the merchandise and this sleazebag excuse of a bank nicks the small businessman. Just keep mum and you can't lose. You might be asked to provide a letter stating you received the merchandise. Look, you're a criminal now, in league with 'collections professionals'. Stick to your guns. See, it's easy. This bunco-bank enjoys a well earned rep. Intermediates who process merchant orders can't stand their arbitrary, kleptocratic, capricious, abusive practices, to enumerate their finer points. Pointedly, Keyser Soze
