disputing a charge-off

i have a Chase card that was charged off in 1999. a few times i have disputed it and it keeps coming back as verified. i called Chase and they have no records of my account information. only Chase is reporting to the credit bureau..the CA is not (it only shows it was transferred to another lender...it does not say when). if Chase has no record of my account info...how can they keep verifying it on the credit report? this account only shows on my transunion report...i successfully got it removed from experian and equifax.
