Have you gotten this figured out yet? If not I know that the info on chexsystems will stay on there for 5 years. You can order a free copy of your report on the web search chexsystems I got mine for free you just have to say that you have been turned down for a checking acount and name a local bank in your area. You can dispute the item and they have 30 days to conduct an investigation on that account. If they cannot get info from that bank within that time period they have to remove it. This is according to the fair credit reporting act. Alot of times if the debt is really old like this one the bank is very willing to settle for alot less in some cases 40% or less of the original debt owed.
