I do not know what the actual status of your wife's debt is. The "debt resolution" company she is using may not be actually "resolving" anything. I suggest you have her check her credit reports to see what is REALLY hapenning with her debts.

It is true that a lien cannot be placed against any property or assets without going through the Court system, however, if you own your home jointly, a lien, after judgment may impair your title, and depending upon the amount of equity you have, may EVEN imperil your ownership.

I strongly urge you to consult a lawyer to see exactly where you stand.
