Be careful with citi they are quick to sue and will not go through collection agencies but directly to attorneys. Check the law but some collection agencies/attorneys have to be lic. to collect in the state that you live in???? I tried working with citi, but they said that my cease and desist letter meant that I wasn't willing to cooperate and they refused to work with me but sent me directly to attorneys, I worked out a payment arrangement with attorneys but the payments were too high and when the financial road got bumpy again wasn't able to keep up with them, without warning they garnished both my savings and checking account into the negatives, causing house payment checks to go nsf, etc.Went to court to fight garnishment only to find out that the judge/courts don't give a rip about what kind of financial hardship you are experiencing (I'm in Michigan), but the attorney was nice enough to suggest and inact a court appointed payment plan which was closer to what I could afford but less then what he was authorized to accept from citi, but they had to accept it because the judge granted it.
