It's my understanding that an account listed as in dispute is not factored into your score so depending on if the tradeline is good or bad the score could be affected.
So many credit decisions are automated today, it's just hard to say if they would flag an app that had 1 item in dispute. I have seen reports where people have received adverse action letters denying them credit because of too many disputes but, these had well over half the tradelines disputed.
