Settlement in writing but they re tracted

I settled a recent judgement of 10,000 for 3,000 obtained the confirmation in writing from the Collection Attorney, sent the certified funds yesterday, I recieved a letter from the Collection Attorneys office stating there was a misstatement by their office and will settled for close to 9,000 and any payment in the amount of 3,000 will be returned. as far as Im concerned the agreement is binding. need a little feed back
