ah this brings back memories of when my wife and to work and the meter only ran for like 3 hours so she had to leave work constantly to feed the machine. of course, sometimes you are busy or forget so she had like a dozen unpaid parking tickets. one day the police came knocking and I had to protect her so I said I was the one driving and they actually took me to jail on a saturday. they were kinda embarressed though and never cuffed me nor did they throw me in a jail cell. I just sat there while she ran to the bank and got money. this happened while she was pulling out of the driveway. 15 seconds later and I woulda spent the weekend in jail. also, this was like 20 minutes before the bank closed. even worse, my parents were visiting from 8 hours away and they woulda gotten to visit me in jail. twas a close one for sure.
