This is what happened with discover. He was at the credit limit of 1000.00 and discover card sent him checks in the mail. Remembering that he is 18 years old and this is his first credit card, and he did not discuss with parents, he thought he could use the checks. He deposited the checks in his friend's bank account, and she wrote him a check for 1.500.00. He claims that the bank told him that the discover check cleared, he spent the money and then discover did not honor the check. He did not tell anyone about this problem until a year or so later. He is now on Chex system. Girls father called and threated me. So, I know this happened. If he was paying a CA, he did not know it. I once payed the bill for him online and called discover card to get a pass word. I know it doesn't make sense. But, I went to the discover web site and with the password I did make a payment for him. I did not want him to be late and get yet another charge. The bill is now at over 2,000.00. My advice to him is to let the SOL run. After the check incident, he changed schools and did not hear from discover for a very long time. I don't know how he started paying again. He might have called them. Thanks anyway. That's all I know about it. I'll tell him to ignore. He really is judgement proof and they can't garnish in PA.
