I see very few posts which address whether one has the ability to pay or offers of friendly advice or sharing of life's experience which may lead to alternative solutions. Rather, I see more trickery and attempts to beat out valid debts in these posts. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to defend CA's or OC's for abuses certainly do occur. I guess I am more concerned with the direction we are going as a whole. What happened to honoring our obligations? During my financial struggles, I took a second job to make ends meet. I reduced my expenses and worked my way out of it. Even those accounts which charged off were paid at a later date. Is it so bad to do what's right? Of course circumstances can prevent one from working themselves out of financial trouble (medical reasons for one)but solutions are still available.
