I did not apprecite being called deadbeat, and worse when I had an accident and could not work. I went through a very difficult time financially, barely paying necessities, food , heat, etc. I could not pay credit card debt. My creditors did not care, my interest rates were tripled, credit lines lowered and I was charged over the limit fees every month. I'm sorry, I do not consider this to be my fair and just debt. It is not WE who are involved in trickery. CAs break the law everyday. We learn to use the laws that are in place to protect us. The FDCPA is there for a purpose as are backrupcy laws. People here did not use credit cards with the intention of not paying them. If you REALLY read this board you will find stories of people strugling to keep up until they just can't anymore. They come here anguished, embarrassed and apologetic. They come here looking for a way to survive. I am not a legal eagle, I offer mostly support, but I think that is important too.
