birdland it's not 'trickery and attempts to beat out valid debts', it's called fairplay. i would imagine that most people at this forum would pay the OC the EXACT amount at time of chargeoff. but when hard times come about and sCAmmers pay pennies on the dollar like whychat stated and then quadruple the amount by adding late fees and 30%+ interest, SCREW EM'!!!. We owe the OC not the CA. Would you pay the milkman for a haircut from your barber? I think not!!!(bad analogy, you get the point). However, once the debt is BOUGHT from the OC, even if we wanted to pay, our relationship with them has ceased, therefore all intentions to pay are ceased to.
