You have to decide what level of risk you are willing to take. Sherman “bought” your account for 5 cents on the dollar. Do you want to pay them knowing that?

Please give some information on your Asset lawsuit. What evidence did they present to the court that proved both the account was yours and that they had legal standing to sue you with documents from the original creditor showing the chain of title to the account, i.e. what was your defense in court?? This information will help figure out what to do now. If Sherman sees someone already beat you in court, they might feel lucky.
